Sakurajima Forum Additions: Chat and Social Groups (soon)

With Discord enshittifying, we are providing alternatives through Sakurajima Forums to allow users to move their Discord communities to alternatives we have.

Chat Feature​

You will notice a Chat link on the navigation bar on the forums. You can now create your own chat rooms (as long you have at least 10 posts or your forums account is 30 days old). This will allow you to create your own rooms. To create private rooms, add a password and give them out to users you want to invite.

Note: Never share sensitive information in chats, they are not end to end encrypted, like with Discord.

Social Groups (Coming Soon)​

This allows you to create your own social groups, basically smaller communities within Sakurajima Forums that you manage. This is ideal if you want to create your own communities like with Discord servers without having to set up your own forums. You will have the ability to invite users as well, as long they have an account here.

Note that you don't need to be a user of our Mastodon or Misskey servers to use Sakurajima Forums. Users who are on Sakurajima Mastodon can easily create an account using the Login with Mastodon feature.

Forum Thread Replies​

Now, you can reply to posts in a thread directly. They will now appear like they do on forum software like on Discourse and Reddit
