January 2026 Updates

Welcome to 2026. Here are some updates.

Plans for Sakurajima​

Still planning for a move to a bigger server if possible to have enough space for future growth and merge the seperate VPS that is sitting out there in OVH. The move will probably happen in February and there will be some downtime to move the virtual machines. More details will come at the end of this month.

Also, Sakurajima Mastodon will be upgraded to the latest Mastodon in Spring. There is a bunch of customizations that need to be tested along with a legacy quotes patch from VT Social that will allow the rendering of already existing quotes. I'm taking a careful approach so nothing breaks in the process. The process will happen sometime in April of this year.

We are planning to launch our Bluesky compatible servers in the first half of this year based off of RSky from Blacksky. I am still figuring how to set up this stuff and have a custom default feed that will be used on our servers. More details when I get that set up.

Lastly, DMCA designated agent information is renewed and adds new domains associated with Sakurajima since 2022.

AniBlogTracker Updates​

I will plan to add the remaining known anime/manga/Japanese culture related sites to AniBlogTracker in the near future. When I have free time, I will work to add the ability to create/log into accounts, and follow sites.

AniBlogTracker will only contain sites that have human-created works. Sites that entirely use AI such as Large Language Models and/or AI generated images may not be allowed to get featured on this site. The goal is to make AniBlogTracker not only a place where fans can follow the known blogosphere, but also search through Japanese media/culture related content as search engines are degraded by AI.

Statement regarding AI Deepfakes with non-consensual intimate imagery​

Rules are updated to prohibit all non-consensual intimate imagery (non-consensual pornographic images) generated through the use of Generative AI tools. Posting such content will result in post removal and a warning on the first violation and a ban on a second. Posting AI generated CSAM will result in an instant ban and the incident will be reported as required by law.
