This is old news but pretty big given that Meta owns Threads.
and even if they bring back fact checkers, now that they let the cat out the bag, how do we know if Meta might not give up on fact checkers again? Some might be wondering what's the significance, if the news is old? This will have a lasting impact on the Fediverse over time.
Meta owns Threads, probably the largest server available on the Fediverse. (unfairly, sure.) Imagine if it was ex Twitter in Threads place. But really there isn't really that much of a difference now between X and Threads, that Meta has took the mask off. It's just as bad.
