It has been a while I shared anything about the ROG Ally. However last weekend, I installed Nobara Linux - Steam Deck version and surprisingly, it works well. It does require the following.
Custom kernel from heere - https://github.com/jlobue10/ALLY_Nobara_fixes/releases
Steam Patch - https://github.com/corando98/steam-patch
HandyGCCS, Asus - (Package installed from the Nobara Package manager)
Works surprisingly well, with most of the JRPGs and Japanese game ports, even those not validated by Valve. Worth a try if you need something more powerful than a Steam Deck or don’t like how bulky it is.
