I like Nintendo's intellectual property history. Mario on the NES was cool. Mario World on the Gameboy advance was cool. (cause I liked the vivid colors of the game over the original SNES game.) Mario kart, Super Smash Bros. Splatoon. Kid icarus NES edition.

To sum up what i'm actually trying to say, I played a majority of classic and modern Ninendo games. I'm not just some random person who hasn't played Nintendo games o hadn't played a good number of Nintendo games, Gamefreak games. I even played that Mario Dance Dance revolution game that people are still to this day discovered that even existed on the Gamecube.

So what's the issue with the Nintendo Switch 2?

A lot of it started with the Switch 1 the paid online subscription. $45+ to play N64 games. Every Nintendo game being $60 . Splatoon might had been worth $60 but was Super Mario Wonder. Rarely goes down in price. Pricey controllers. Nintendo making controllers I bought drift and refusing to fix the problem permanently.

So here is my issues with the Switch 2 specifically.

$70 - $80 + for Switch 2 games. If the quality was there however I wouldn't be against these prices.

The Switch 2 console is atleast $400. Your best bet is to buy a Switch 2 bundle. to save atleast some amount from purchase.

I currently do not trust the Switch 2 will not have joy con drift issues. This is a huge reason why I am avoiding the Switch 2.

There is a console tutorial game that does not come with your $400+ console that you have to pay $10 extra for. $400 console. no freebie.

Nintendo now promises to Rick your console if you violate the terms agreement. No, not ban your account, brick your console.

Nintendo being a public traded company is degrading the Nintendo experience for everyone:

a. They rerelease ports of basic 2d platformer games that probably cost nothing to make, for $60 on the new console.
b. Switch online paid membership exists.
c. The switch 2 will literally require your phone number to use voice chat on the console on top of paying for Nintendo switch online.

How much money does this public ally traded corporation need. Public ally traded sounds nice, but it is anti consumer, anti public. If Nintendo was pro public they would be selling their games on all consoles but tbh, that's a stretch anyways for any business really. If Nintendo was pro public. New Super Mario Bros U delux on the Switch 2 would retail at $30 new.

What's a way out? Steam. Steam is not public ally traded. Steam Deck, is free from all of this. There is no paid online, their isn't this need to make max profit. Rather, they just need to make enough profit. I don't need ai, or some company to pay Sega money to put their games on their subscription service that I don't want to subscribe to. Granted, I don't know that much about steam at the moment as a company but the Steam Deck, or one other the other competing docking portable devices competing with the Switch is the future for gaming.
