We have decided that the old guides we made on the whim when the first wave of X users (nee Twitter) came in November of last year. Now the information is outdated since Mastodon went through many changes over the previous 10 months. Also, we aren’t running vanilla Mastodon anymore, meaning there will be differences in features.
Instead of writing a revised guide, we have put together videos with narration generated by vocal synthesizers. No, not the normal ones you will find on macOS and Windows or even the Cloud TTS, but more of the lines of Vocaloid, Cevio AI, etc., more anime themed.
We have two how-to videos done already. One of them shows the basics of Mastodon. It explains what Mastodon is, the Fediverse, the differences between the Fediverse and centralized platforms, and how to use the basic features of Mastodon.
The second video is for Anime/Japanese media Bloggers, showing how to auto share posts from your blog to Mastodon.
