Basically, this is the moment everyone is waiting for. Besides Mastodon 4.1.0 coming out, which brings a bunch of new features, but also we are now using neatchee’s fork of Mastodon Glitch, which he uses for urusai.social and most of the original work done by fef1312 in this pull request. Note that since we are finally living on the cutting edge like with Anis’s Magicology, you may encounter some bugs. If you encounter any, you should probably file an issue at their issue tracker.
So how does this reaction feature works? Reactions should show if the posts come from Mastodon with the reaction patch (which is ours and urusai.social) or using the Fedibird fork, Akkoma, and Misskey including the forks (Calckey and Foundkey). For vanilla and glitch-soc Mastodon without the patch and other Fediverse apps, it will appear as a favorite. Note that leaving reactions is only available in the Glitch frontend, not the Elk, vanilla Mastodon, Halcyon, or Pinafore frontends. Additionally, you cannot leave reactions through currently available iOS/Android and desktop third party clients.
To leave a reaction, click the plus button and then click any emoji. Once you click it, it will appear. Highlighted reactions are the one you left and you can click on it to remove it.
