We have been working a bit overtime since a new spurt of people joined Mastodon. So with that, we rolled out some more features. Besides bringing tutorials to set up AutoShare of blog posts and making our quick start guide available in blog form, is some UI enhancements.
We have finally implemented the Modern Mastodon theme from Freeplay. Now, versions of our three custom color schemes are available for the Modern Mastodon theme in addition to the default color schemes. Some may find the default theme rather, well plain. The Modern Mastodon theme aims to make it look more flashy and nicer, like with Misskey/Foundkey.
I made the themes to make them work out of the box with a Glitch Soc installation. While the Modern Mastodon theme works with the Glitch flavor, the Notification section is all broken. We couldn’t implement that until the creator decided to fix it, which is unlikely. All the files are here, and be sure to credit the guy who created Modern Mastodon, Freeplay if you decide to use any of the Modern Mastodon themes.
In addition, we added a bunch of emojis. Credits, if available, are on the about page.
Also, we have heard tthat Twitter isblocking links to any alternatives to Twitter, such as Mastodon and Pixelfed. Our instance is unaffected since it’s smol, but if it gets blocked when you try to inform your followers on Twitter to join, here are the alternatives. Remember, Twitter is no longer a viable place to post content with the influx of hate and radicalization on the platform and should just be left to rot. You should only use Twitter now to get people to migrate. If you know any anime bloggers, I urge you to convince them to move over or consider creating our account on our instance. Big instances should be avoided since they are being swamped with new users right now.
