Here are some updates on our projects we have planned for the future. They won't be happening immediately, but probably 4-6 months from now.
Sakurajima Bluesky PDS Server plans
We have been planning to host our own personal data store (PDS) server for a while, but there is no easy way to migrate accounts from the official Bluesky server to our own. With some changes to Bluesky using their app view and PDS over age requirements and forced arbitration, when we start offering our own PDS services, it will have a forked version of Blacksky's PDS and App View that is AT-Protocol compatible, so you can still interact Bluesky users even if you migrated to our version. We will be using Blacksky's moderation service (not the official Bluesky one), but instead the featuring feed will focus more on Japanese media content. The terms of service will be the same as our Mastodon and Misskey, so we won't be doing any unpopular moderation choices that the official Bluesky service is taking, while on the base level, only moderate that violate our basic rules (1,2,3) which should be covered by the default Blacksky moderation rules.Another difference is that only users that are vetted may have an account on our PDS. At the minimum, have an already established Bluesky account that has some or entire focus on Japanese media and culture, and not violate the 3 basic rules on our Mastodon instance. All new accounts will require vetting before they can join, unless they use an automated verification of an Anlist or MyAnimeList profile. More details are coming soon .
Loops Server
Earlier this year, we have registered yurigaoka.tokyo for future use for the Loops server (Fediverse Tiktok alternative). However, the public beta for Loops has yet to come out yet, so there is no update for the time being.Only established creators and existing Sakurajima users (accounts 3 months or older) that has at least 10 followers and 10 posts may have an account. This is due to hosting video being more space intensive than our microblogging and photo sharing services. Therefore, we have to limit users on who can have an account. We may loosen restrictions if we can cover all our expenses via donations.
