Since it’s the end of July, here are some brief updates and plans for Sakurajima.

Fundraising Update​

Here is our update on the fundraising goals as of July 27th.

Currently, we are at at 50% of the $108 month goal ($55 a month from Patreon). That goal is our monthly costs

Mastodon Phishing Messages​

There have been a wave of phishing spam accounts that are impersonating Mastodon Support. We will never use a form or notify you publicly regarding any issues. Do not give out your account information to anyone. If you see these messages telling you to fill out a form, please report these posts so we can take care of them. We will continuously update our filtering rules to block any future phishing messages from coming through.

If you have any issues with Mastodon, use the email on the about page, the Sakurajima Forums, or contact a staff member, which is also on the about page.

Future WordPress and Ghost Paid Hosting options for Anime Bloggers/Japanese media creators​

If you are using Substack, you should probably consider an alternative since the platform hosts morally questionable and extremist content. With that, to make lives easier to creators who use Substack to create newsletters relating to Japanese content, we will provide affordable paid hosting options to take the guess work of moving platforms. This paid hosting will only cater to existing creators, not new ones as we want to cater to creators who already started or have an established newsletter or blog.
